Biography

Dr. Kayode Olakunle is a Statistician, researcher, educator, and academic administrator with expertise in statistical methodology, generalized linear models, robust statistics, and count data analysis. He currently serves as the Head of the Department of Statistics at the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igboora, Nigeria, where he provides academic leadership, teaches undergraduate and Higher National Diploma courses, supervises research projects, and contributes to curriculum development and institutional service.

He recently earned a Ph.D. in Statistics, with research focused on developing novel two-parameter shrinkage estimators to mitigate the effects of multicollinearity and outliers in Poisson regression models. His work integrates theoretical statistical modelling, mathematical derivation, Monte Carlo simulation, and computation to improve parameter estimation and statistical inference for count data models. His research has resulted in peer-reviewed publications and reflects a strong commitment to advancing robust statistical methodology. His research interests include robust statistics, generalized linear models, shrinkage estimation, penalized regression, statistical computing, Bayesian statistics, machine learning, biostatistics, agricultural statistics, environmental statistics, and data science. He is particularly interested in developing innovative statistical methods that are mathematically rigorous, computationally efficient, and applicable to solving practical problems in health, agriculture, environmental science, economics, and public policy.

Dr. Kayode Olakunle has extensive experience in teaching, academic administration, statistical consultancy, and research mentoring. He is committed to fostering excellence in statistical education, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and translating methodological innovation into practical tools for scientific research and evidence-based decision-making.
